Warning: Spoilers ahead. Prepare yourselves, The Vampire Diaries fans, because not only did Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder just have a pretty major reunion, but they also responded to a fan’s reaction about the iconic show’s finale. Yep, we’re seriously freaking out over this major walk down memory lane.
This TVD throwback all started on Wednesday, August 12, when the on-screen brothers took to Instagram and shared a photo of themselves alongside an announcement for their joint business venture.
“Ladies and Gents, me and my homie @iansomerhalder aka smoldeypants are so thrilled to bring you our latest venture,” Paul captioned the photo, which gave fans major Salvatore brothers vibes.
Then, they continued the nostalgia by responding to a fan on Twitter who broke down in tears while watching the show’s series finale. The video, showed the Twitter user’s teenage daughter sobbing after Paul’s character, Stefan, died in The Vampire Diaries final episode.
“@paulwesley My teenager seriously has a problem… lol,” the mom wrote. The 38-year-old was quick to reply, “Hahaha this is too good! Give her a hug from me and make sure she knows I am alive and well.”

Aside from his reply, Paul also retweeted the video alongside a caption that read, “This is too funny.”
As if the entire interaction couldn’t get any better, Ian then stepped in with a witty reply to the young girl’s tears.
“I felt the same way kiddo! But then I realized, ‘Oh wait, I just saw him yesterday… He’s still alive.’ XO Damon,” the actor said, with a wink face. We’re seriously swooning over this!

As fans know, The Vampire Diaries aired on the CW for eight seasons from 2009 until 2017. Based on the book series of the same name by L. J. Smith, the show followed a vampire who returned to his Virginia hometown, which was filled with supernatural beings, and fell in love with a recently orphaned teenage girl. Since it came to an end, the stars have all stayed in the spotlight, went on to have super successful acting careers and have grown up so much!
