The Weeknd and Bella Hadid seem to be completely over, but that hasn't stopped either of them from talking about their relationship.

But his past love life isn't the only thing the "Starboy" singer has recently opened up about. During a new, very honest interview, The Weeknd admits that he sometimes uses illegal substances while making music. He said, "When I had nothing to do but make music, it was very heavy. [Illegal substances] were a crutch for me. There were songs on my first record that were seven minutes long, rambling – whatever thoughts I was having when I was under the influence at the time. I can't see myself doing that now."

He continued, "I'll be completely honest with you. The past couple of albums, I do get back to that. Even on this new album. You have writer's block. And sometimes you're like, I can't do this sober."

Wow! He admits that he's in control now and doesn't do this on a regular basis; however, this kind of thing tends to make headlines when any artist confesses to actively using illegal substances. It's pretty eye-opening that The Weeknd feels comfortable enough to share this part of his private life and personal struggle with fans.

To be honest, it also makes him that much more real. As for his relationship with Bella? He doesn't use her name but says, "I mean… in life… what relationship is easy?"

The two reportedly split a few weeks ago, but it was Bella that broke the silence after the split rumors and praised him for his performance at the Victoria's Secret fashion show. She posted a photo on Instagram with the caption, "I can't believe it! ???
I was smiling SO HUGE on the inside I promise!!!! The most fun and nerve racking experience of my life but I wish I could do it over and over and over again!!!!! ??Thank you @theweeknd for being the best and most incredible performer on the planet. You KILLED it, as always ? ❤️ And not enough thank you's to @ed_razek @10magazine @johndavidpfeiffer @monica.mitro and the whole VS family!!!?????thank you for believing in me I love you all so so so much ????"

OMG! But, of course, this was all that was said. In predictable celebrity fashion, Bella and The Weeknd are keeping everyone guessing about their relationship status. Even if there really is nothing going on romantically between the two anymore there's definitely no bad blood.

Come on, she used a heart emoji when mentioning him – they obviously still have some love for each other even if it's just friendly!
