For those who are wondering how Vanessa Hudgens celebrated her first Valentine’s Day following her split from Austin Butler, it appeared that she was completely unbothered by the recent breakup! Taking to Instagram on February 14, 2020, the former High School Musical star posted a series of videos of herself having fun with some cute Valentine’s Day filters.
“Happy Valentine’s to me. Happy day of loving myself,” she said in one of them.
“Who needs a Valentine when you’ve got this guy?” she added in another clip, which showed her using a giant teddy bear filter.
It turns out, Vanessa spent the national day of love with her dog and some yummy pizza. The 31-year-old later shared a snap of three pies, which she captioned, “This is what I call a love day.”
“At least I have the cutest little buddy buddy ever,” she added alongside a photo of her and her pup, Darla, cuddling up in bed together.
As fans know, an insider confirmed to Us Weekly back in January 2020, that Vanessa and Austin were over after almost nine years together. According to E! News, it was long distance that ultimately caused them to go their separate ways. An insider told them, “They’re just shooting on two different continents and it’s a matter of distance. There is no bad blood at all, and they have a lot of respect for each other.”
Another source added, “They have such a history and deep connection they could find their way back to one another.”
Vanessa and Austin were first linked back in September 2011, when photographers caught the pair kissing at Bob’s Big Boy diner in California. They went red carpet official in February 2012, and after that, they were serious couple goals. They constantly gushed over each other in interviews, supported each other’s work, shared the cutest, PDA-filled photos on social media, jetted off on romantic getaways and attended events side by side. People Magazine even reported that the two stars were thinking about getting married before they broke up.
Since the breakup, rumors have been circulating that Vanessa had moved on with NBA player Kyle Kuzma, after they had a flirty exchange on Instagram. The brunette beauty was even spotted attending one of his basketball games.
