BRING IT ON: 'Wizards of Waverly Place' Creator Has Big Ideas For an Epic Reboot

October 12, 2017, marked the 10th anniversary of Wizards of Waverly Place premiering on Disney Channel making Selena Gomez a household name. The series was actually the longest-running show ever to be on the network and starred Selena, Jake T. Austin, David Henrie and Jennifer Stone. Even though it's been a decade since the start, loyal Wizards fans are still hoping that maybe someday there will be a reboot. The world did get a That's So Raven spin-off, so it's not the most outlandish idea ever.

Plus, the Wizards of Waverly Place creator, Todd J. Greenwald, already has some ideas. Yes, you read that correctly. He's begun to think about what would happen to the characters he created so long ago if they were ever to come back to life and into our living rooms once again. To be honest, his ideas are nothing short of incredible.

Todd chatted with Seventeen magazine and said, "Production value is ultimately what I’m going for. It’s something that you wouldn’t expect to see out of a Disney-inspired show." He said fans should think of it as, "a high-budget, Harry Potter-esque movie." Whoa. Can you imagine? While he has said in the past that Harry Potter and the Wizards cast don't take place in the same realm, it'd be interesting to see these characters in that kind of setting and production.

He has also imagined a prequel to the series where fans get to discover what Jerry Russo was like while attending WizTech. Todd revealed that even though this means Alex and our beloved Selena wouldn't be around at this time, he would find a way for her to be. "The twist for me would probably be Alex taking over somebody’s mind. Maybe she would become her own mother, which would be really weird, because she knows she has to control certain things..."So even though Alex isn’t in it, we know as an audience that she is in the body of one of the characters throughout the series, which would be cool."

Whatever he decides, can we make it happen, like, as soon as possible? Selena and David expressed their interest in a reunion back at the beginning of the year when they tried to figure out what their characters would be up to now. Selena said, "You know what, she's [Alex Russo] killing the game, that's what she's doing! Should we do the reunion, guys? Should we just bring Wizards of Waverly Place back? I think we should."

David posted a photo on Instagram from the same night with the caption, "We had the best time last night. We dreamed up what our wizards characters are doing present day lol, and talked about the fact that I started all of @selenagomez social media platforms ;)."

Looks like everyone is in and Todd has ideas brewing. Now, all we need to know is, Disney Channel, where you at??
