YouTuber Austin Jones is in some very serious trouble.
The Internet personality was arrested last week at Customs and Border Patrol and Homeland Security Investigations at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago. Austin is being accused of asking minors – individuals who are younger than 18 years of age – for inappropriate photos and videos. Austin allegedly received the explicit photos and videos of two girls who are 14 years old. It's being reported that the girls had told Austin their age and he still asked and accepted the content after having this knowledge.
A federal judge has released Austin on bail of $100,000. Not only that but Austin must remain at home as he awaits his trial. He is also banned from using the Internet and social media during this time period.
Austin is not hiding what he has done either coming clean to the authorities while he was in custody. There is reportedly a recorded tape of Austin saying that he used his Facebook to have explicit conversations with girls who were minors. He supposedly admits to requesting and receiving the videos and admits to watching these videos/
Something like this is punishable with up to 15 years in federal prison. Austin is just 24 years old.
Back in 2015, there were some shady accusations going on as well about this same type of thing. Austin issued an apology on Facebook saying, "I'm embarrassed. I'd have conversations online with girls that would involve me asking them to create a video of themselves twerking. Sometimes I'd make videos of myself doing some twerk moves in return. Here's the truth: I NEVER asked them to do anything more than send a twerking video. Nothing EVER went beyond that."
Clearly, things escalated. Even though Austin gave his statement allegedly admitting to requesting the videos where he instructed the girls on what to wear, say and do, People magazine is reporting that he will plead not guilty to the charges against him.
His defense attorney said, "He’s a scared young man."
