He’s returning to his roots! Yep, Zac Efron is reportedly heading back to Disney for their upcoming Three Men and a Baby remake, and we have all the exciting deets!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the High School Musical star is “on board” to star in the new reboot of the 1987 flick, with Gordon Gray producing and Will Reichel writing the script. A search for a director is reportedly still underway.

As fans know, the original movie followed roommates Peter (Tom Selleck), Michael (Steve Guttenberg) and Jack (Ted Danson), who were in for the shock of a lifetime when they discovered a baby on their doorstep. The men found out (via a letter left with the newborn) that the child (whose name is Mary) actually belonged to Jack. But since he was away on business, Michael and Peter were forced to take care of the little girl, and although they made terrible babysitters, they eventually learned to love her. It’s still unclear which of the guys Zac will play and who else is going to star in the new film, but either way, we know it’s going to be amazing!

It turns out, that’s not the only thing that the actor may be working on with Disney. For those who missed it, news hit the web back in October 2019 that the network was making a new Pirates of the Caribbean movie starring Zac! Veteran Pirates writer Ted Elliott and Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin are reportedly working on it.

Although there aren’t a lot of details on it just yet, some reports have said that the flick is actually going to be a prequel to the movies that are already out, and that the 32-year-old Hairspray alum is set to play the pirate Jack Sparrow when he was younger. Obviously, it’s all speculation until Disney shares the details themselves, but we really hope that this is true!
