Our thoughts and prayers go out to Zayn Malik and his entire family today after news broke that his 5-year-old cousin Arshiya Malik has passed away after reportedly battling a brain tumor for years. The "Pillowtalk" singer has yet to comment on Arshiya's death publicly, but Zayn's aunt and his sister have both posted tributes.

His younger sister, Waliyha Malik, posted a photo on Instagram with the caption, "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un
Rest is peace you beautiful princess, may Allah grant you the highest rank of jannah✨."

Zayn's aunt who is Arshiya's mother, Zileh Malik, also confirmed her daughter's passing on social media. She posted this Instagram tribute with the heartbreaking caption that reads, "An angel wrote in the book of life my baby's date of birth, then whispered as she closed the book.. 'Too beautiful for earth' R.I.P baby doll.. ❤️?? #keeparshiyainyourduas."

This is devastating and we can only imagine what Zayn's family is going through right now. The DailyMail is also reporting that back in 2014 another cousin, Aaroosa Malik, revealed that the doctors weren't able to do anything more for Arshiya in terms of medical treatment. She said, "Doctors have given up on Arshiya but she is still fighting brave like a soldier. Can everyone please pray for her and anyone out there with a medical background or any doctor who thinks they can help please get in touch if possible … They operated on her twice. She hasn't come round since. They thought she was brain dead but she's not."

Zayn is super close with all of his family members and he was reportedly very close with Arshiya has well despite her young age. He has been photographed with her on multiple occasions. The photo above was taken at Perrie Edwards' 21st birthday party in 2014 when Zayn was still in engaged to the Little Mix singer.

Zayn has not been super public about Arshiya's illness yet his closest fans have been aware of her battle. Many have taken to social media to express their condolences. Not only have they left their messages on Twitter but also in the comments section on both Zileh and Waliyha's tributes.

One fan wrote, "ndiloves1d: She was so young ? rest in peace ?."

Another wrote, "sad9181: May Allah give her the highest rank in Jannah inshallah and he give you and your family sabr at this very hard time just remember Allah is with you always ??????."

Our condolences go out to Zayn and his entire family at this time of extreme sadness.
