On Sunday, December 8, Lil Nas X took to social media and got candid with fans about the challenges he’s faced since becoming famous. The 20-year-old opened up about the reasons why tends to keep his emotions to himself.
“I usually deal with my sad times in private because I don’t like for my fans or family to feel sorry for me,” he wrote. “This year had a lot of very high ups and extremely low downs. When [you] get to that hotel room and it’s just you, you do a lot of thinking. Small things become so BIG.”
The “Old Town Road” singer talked about receiving hate and admitted that, often times, it affects him mentally.
“I like to pretend hate and s**t don’t get to me, but subconsciously it eats away at me,” he admitted. “Feeling like [you] have the world and knowing it can all go away at any time is scary. That being said I want anybody who cared enough to read this to just live in the moment. Love [you] guys.”
This series of tweets came just after he shared his condolences for rapper Juice WRLD after news of his tragic death broke.
“RIP Juice. So sad how often this is happening lately to young talented rising artists,” he wrote as a tribute to the “Lucid Dreams” rapper.
The 21-year-old passed away on Sunday, December 8. According to CNN, he suffered a medical emergency shortly after landing at Chicago’s Midway International Airport and later died at a nearby hospital.
Police have stated that there was no sign of foul play and the medical examiner is in the process of determining a cause of death.
