Alessia Cara has been gracing the radio airwaves since 2015, when her debut album Know-It-All came out. In fact, the artist just won a 2018 Grammy for Best New Artist. But do you really know the girl behind the golden voice? Here's all you need to know about her rise to stardom.

Who is Alessia Cara?

Full name Alessia Caracciolo, this songwriter got her start by posting YouTube covers. Born and raised in Canada, Alessia already has some Canadian pop stars to look up to. Celine Dion, Justin Bieber, and more artists are cheering her on. At 21 years old, she's already well on her way to being a huge success. But just because she's a pop singer doesn't mean that she's your typical musician. In fact, her website describes her as "a conscious-pop star who’s set to subversively top charts and sway hearts and minds."

Her hit songs "Here" and "Scars to Your Beautiful" totally embody that. These are the anthems of the underdog and those who swim against the current. She takes inspiration from growing up in Brampton, Ontario, a typical suburb that just couldn't handle all that she has to offer. Sound familiar? Then, you've got to hear what else Alessia has to offer.

What other songs does Alessia Cara sing? (There's a Moana song in there!)

Well, before there was Know-It-All, there was Four Pink Walls, her debut EP. It featured several songs that ended up on her album, like "Here," "Seventeen," "Outlaws," "Four Pink Walls," and "I'm Yours." Then, a few more songs were added to Know-It-All. Including, "Wild Things," "Stone," "Overdose," and "Stars."

Along with her original songs, Alessia has sung two songs for different movies. She lent her amazing voice to the Moana soundtrack and sang "How Far I'll Go." She's basically a Disney princess now, although she did not, in fact, play Moana.

Alessia also sings "Stay" from Everything, Everything, starring Nick Robinson and Amandla Stenberg (who happens to be starring in The Hate U Give with Sabrina Carpenter!).

You can follow Alessia Cara all over Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, and more. Here's how:

You know how Alessia got her start on YouTube? Those videos are still available to watch. While some former YouTubers, like Charlie Puth, delete their accounts, others like Alessia and Justin Bieber, are able to leave theirs up. Not only can you watch her old covers of songs like "Blank Space," but you can also watch her rise to stardom. Want to hear Alessia sing current favorites, too? She still uploads on that YouTube channel. She posts covers and vlogs her tours. Wouldn't it be amazing if all singers had YouTube channels?

When she's not on Youtube, she's on Instagram at @alessiasmusic! Alessia posts pretty often. If you're expecting the typical celebrity Instagram, you'd be surprised. In-between gorgeous shots of her concerts, Alessia posts goofy selfies, messy cooking shots, and whatever's happening in her life. Her website bio calls her a "bashful, small-town girl even in the big city," which perfectly describes her eclectic Instagram page. In fact, it probably says just as much about her as her songs do.

You can also follow along with her up-to-the-minute witticisms on Twitter at @alessiacara, on Snapchat at Itsalesssia, and on Tumblr.

She may sing love songs, but does Alessia Cara have a boyfriend?

Who else but another songwriter could handle Alessia's overflowing heart? She officially called Kevin Garrett (who wrote Beyonce's "Pray You Catch Me") her boyfriend on ET Canada in the spring of 2017, but the two have been flirting on the 'gram for a year. Honestly, it's rude how cute they are!

The 26-year-old musician started touring with Alessia in early 2016. He told Ones To Watch, "She’s a friend so she sent me a note one day asking my manager to talk to her manager." The rest is history! While on tour, she uploaded a cover of them singing Khalid's "Location." In 2016, he posted a cover of Alessia's song, "Stone" to his own YouTube channel! The description simply says "Hi this is one of my favourite songs ever." Adorable!

Enough about her BF! Meet Alessia Cara's family…

Both of Alessia's parents are Italian and she has three siblings. She shares her love for her mom frequently on Instagram.

Her fans obsess over these throwback photos of her parents. Doesn't her dad look a little like JC Caylen?

Now that you know the girl, Alessia's songs are even more meaningful. What's next for Alessia Cara? She kicked off 2018 by performing on New Year's Rockin' Eve, so we know this year is bound to be a great one for the artist.
