After the 2014 Kids' Choice Awards, it was clear there was some tension between Sam & Cat stars Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande. The two actresses were both up for the same award, and Jennette skipped out on the show, even unfollowing Ariana from all social media accounts and saying she didn't show up because of the "uncomfortable, compromising, unfair situation" she was put in.

Now that the hit Nickelodeon show is wrapping up its 40-episode first season, no one is sure if there will even be a second one — especially with how things have been going lately. According to Deadline, emotions were running high for quite a while, with Jennette and Ariana even showing up late to the set. Since they're both getting older, it's being predicted that the stars are just "ready to move on."

A statement from the network didn't reveal any plans regarding a second season, but did let on that the actors really do need a nice, long break.

"We are wrapping up what was an unusually long production cycle of Sam & Cat, and everyone is understandably tired,” the network said. “We are going into our production hiatus next week which will give everyone on the show a much needed rest."
