As 2012 draws to a close, the J-14 editors reflect back on our favorite One Direction moments of the year:
Interviewing Harry Styles "Not only did I learn that the curly-haired singer is just as cute in person but also that he's maybe one of the nicest guys on the planet." -- Deputy Editor Ashley Spencer
Meeting 1D at the Hasbro Dolls Event "My favorite One Direction moment was hugging each and every one of them. Wouldn't that make your year?" -- Assistant Editor Laura Knipping
1D's First-Ever MSG Performance "It was such a major night for the guys -- and you could just feel how proud the fans were! Plus, Ed Sheeran making a special appearance to sing 'Little Things' with One Direction? Best. Thing. Ever." -- Editorial Associate Katie Amey
"Seeing One Direction's sold out show at Madison Square Garden was incredible and it's crazy seeing how far they've come in only two years!" -- Photo Assistant Nicole Mazza
Their First 'Today Show' Concert "That was the moment I knew they were going to be huge!" -- Designer Tanya Swartz
1D's IZOD Center Show "Getting to shoot One Direction in concert from in front of the front row was so much fun! And so loud!" -- Photo Editor Danielle Kepler
Meeting One Direction Backstage at their First Headlining Show in London "As I chatted with the guys backstage one-on-one at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo in London back in January, I was immediately charmed by each of them with their adorable accents, polite manners, and charming ways. Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik told me that I just had to go to Nando's and Madame Tussauds before leaving London, Liam Payne personally gave me a 1D concert program and rubber bracelet, Harry Styles volunteered to take a pic of me and Liam, and Niall Horan told me he was impressed that I had done my research about them. And the best thing about One Direction? Every single time I've seen them since then -- they've been equally as down-to-earth and sweet." -- Editor-in-Chief Rachel Chang
