Sam Smith is being accused of stealing his track, "Stay With Me"! According to songwriter Mark Halper, the famous singer took the phrase "stay with me" from a 1986 demo of a song called "Don't Throw Our Love Away."

He's not exactly hitting the singer with a lawsuit, but he's going after a bunch of record labels and wants to be given a Grammy from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. (If you recall, Sam won a whopping four Grammy awards this year.)
The star has already been slammed with plagiarism accusations by the artist Tom Petty, who pointed out similarities with his 1989 song, "I Won't Back Down." Sam agreed to pay the singer songwriting royalties, so we definitely wonder how he'll respond to this other allegation. We highly doubt that he intentionally copied anything!
