It's kind of hard to believe that the first ever High School Musical movie aired on Disney Channel in January of 2006. 11 years has gone by since the world first saw the start of something new and Troy, Gabriella and all of your fave East High Wildcats decided to break free. The trilogy is iconic for so many fans, but what about the key stars? Well, in an interview with The Zach Sang Show, Vanessa Hudgens was flat-out asked if she has any regrets from that time in life and she admitted that no, she absolutely doesn't. And yes, that includes her beloved yet totally dunzo relationship with her co-star Zac Efron.

"[HSM] is like home videos almost for the entire world to watch, except not, because it's way more coordinated and put together more than a home video would ever be, but I'm like a baby [in it]. Everything that I've done career-wise, personal-life-wise, has gotten me to be the person that I am today and I love the person that I am today so I wouldn't change a thing. The hard things, the happy things, the fun things, everything has really molded me and I'm really grateful for all it," Vanessa explained.

So while she's happily with Austin Butler now and it's been a super long time since she played Gabriella, it's all part of her life story and made her the lovely woman she is now. No regrets when it comes to the love story that was Zanessa. Let's all just let that sink in.

When it comes to the three movies though, she still believes like any fans that the overall story and messages they send are simply timeless, although if the films were to be released today for the first time exactly how they were filmed all those years ago, she thinks they would need a bit of updating.

"I don't know, it's been a while, things change over a decade. I feel like patterns are the same in that sense things haven't changed much [in high school], but everything surrounding [kids in school has]. Like their phones. Sharpay would not have a Sidekick in this day and age, she would have an iPhone. All the themes are very prominent in life, doesn't matter how old you are. We've all been through that. I think it's a good story," Vanessa said.

True, true. Most of the ~technology~ is super outdated when you watch the movies now, but hey, that's part of their charm! V is obviously still close with all of her former castmates — minus Zac since they understandably don't talk anymore — so it's nice to know she really does look back on that whirlwind experience with such fond memories. She was only 15 years old when her HSM journey began and it will be a part of her forever. Once a Wildcat, always a wildcat.
