Congrats Jillian Rose Reed! The Awkward star just announced that she and her longtime boyfriend, Marty Shannon, are engaged, and we could not be more excited for them.
The actress shared the amazing news via Instagram on Saturday, July 13.
“I knew a long time ago that I’d spend the rest of my life with you, but getting to say, ‘YES’ has been the most incredible feeling in the world!” she wrote. “I love being your fiancée, and I’m so in love with this life we’ve created.”
If you look closely, the 27-year-old even gave us a glimpse of her gorgeous diamond ring! Marty also took to his social media to gush over the news.
“’Well it’s about f–king time,’ said all the world’s mothers,” he wrote.
Based off the pictures, it appears that the singer asked Jillian to be his wife on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Wow, how romantic is that? Talk about goals! As fans know, the lovebirds have been dating since December 2011, which means they’ve been together for over seven years now. Yeah, it’s pretty clear that these two are meant to be!
Naturally, the MTV star’s celebrity friends and former costars were just as excited as we all were, and they left some super sweet comments for the couple.
“Still smiling over this news. I’m just so happy for you guys. Love you!” Nikki DeLoach, who starred in Awkward alongside Jillian wrote.
“Wooo! Congratulations!” 13 Reasons Why and Awkward actor Justin Prentice added.
Molly Tarlov also left her congratulations.
“Congrats Baby Juice and Bitcoin Elliot!” she commented.
Faking It star Katie Stevens was ecstatic, writing, “YAAAAAAAAY! So Happy for you both! Congratulations.”
