The matriarch of the beloved show Dance Moms is officially calling it quits! Abby Lee Miller took to Instagram to make the announcement that she will no longer take part in the super successful show that has been airing for the last six years, running the course of seven seasons.
During that time, Abby introduced the world to her very talented young dancers from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The original group, which included Maddie Ziegler, were followed by cameras as they went from dance competition to dance competition week after week. Their moms also played a huge part in the storyline along with Abby's strict rules and harsh criticisms for the dancers.

Throughout the past several years, many of the cast members have left and new dancers came onto the show as they skyrocketed to fame. Now, it's Abby's turn to take her final bow.
She posted this photo on Instagram with the caption, "The majority of children that follow me may be fast asleep, however now is the critical time to make the following statement: I WILL NO LONGER TAKE PART IN DANCE MOMS. FOR THE PAST SIX YEARS/ SEVEN SEASONS I HAVE ASKED, BEGGED, AND EVEN DEMANDED CREATIVE CREDIT FOR ALL THE IDEAS, AWARD WINNING ROUTINES, THEMES, AND COSTUMING – TO NO AVAIL!"
She continued, "TODAY, I WAS SO PROUD THAT I WENT AGAINST THE PRODUCER'S IDEA (ONCE AGAIN) TO ENTER A COMMAND PERFORMANCE OF ONE OF MY FAVORITE NUMBERS… "WHERE HAVE ALL THE CHILDREN GONE?" ALONG WITH THREE BEAUTIFUL SOLOS! I don't have a problem working with any kid, I love children and have dedicated my life to making other people's children successful!"
"I JUST HAVE A PROBLEM WITH BEING MANIPULATED, DISRESPECTED, AND USED – DAY IN AND DAY OUT BY MEN WHO NEVER TOOK A DANCE LESSON IN THEIR LIVES AND TREAT WOMEN LIKE DIRT! #dancemoms #season7 #ALDC #aldcalways #newbeginnings #aldcla #alllovedancecourage," Abby ended her message.
Yikes! This seems super messy.
Abby has been going through a lot lately, especially with the law, so it's possible that this has something to do with all of that. She is currently being accused of fraud and could spend up to two years in prison if she is convicted during her sentencing in a couple of months.

There's no telling why Abby made the decision when she did to officially quit the show. However, even amidst her legal battles, she was also indirectly dissed by Maddie in her new memoir, The Maddie Diaries. Maddie does not mention Abby once throughout the book and even credits Sia for being her mentor.
In one passage, Maddie wrote, "Before I met [Sia], I would say yes to a lot of things I didn’t want to do. Because I thought I had to – I didn’t want to disappoint anyone. I’d be overwhelmed by the amount of work on my plate. Sia always tells me you have to have time off, step back and appreciate the moment."
Could Abby be feeling betrayed by someone she seemingly raised and guided on the show? Could she be lashing out at producers for making her look too hard on the girls? There are lots of questions to be answered when it comes to why she left the show and her current relationship with Maddie. But, one thing is for sure, Abby Lee is ready to start new.
