Ariana Grande performed at the 2014 Country Music Awards last night — and some country music fans are furious. Even though the "Problem" singer performed a rendition of "Bang Bang" with country act Little Big Town, people were super-confused that she was even attending the event. Her songs veer heavily into pop and R&B.
The artist kept getting bashed for not being "country" enough on Twitter.
In fact, some are even blaming Taylor Swift for her performance. Although "The Shake It Off" singer says she hasn't angered the country music industry by going full-on pop, Braid Paisley and Carrie Underwood joked that the CMAs were suffering from "Postpartum Taylor Swift Disorder." Since Ariana is one of the most popular acts around, we understand why they'd want her there!
Of course, not everyone was upset about her appearance — Lucy Hale gushed about her performance.
thank u love! wish I had gotten to hug u “@lucyhale: Little angel @ArianaGrande KILLED it tonight at Cmas. Absolutely mind blowing voice.”

Since she's such a talented artist, her performance was great, even if it was a little strange to see her there.
