As fans know, the singer was tragically shot and killed while signing autographs after her show in Orlando, FL on June 10, 2016. Her fans, friends and fellow celebrities were devastated by her sad passing. Selena Gomez, in particular, was super close to the talented musician.
“My heart is absolutely broken. I miss you Christina,” she wrote on Twitter at the time.

She even broke down in tears while singing one of Christina’s songs during one of her shows. Stars like Rowan Blanchard, Zendaya, Olivia Holt, Demi Lovato, Chloe Lukasiak, David Henrie, Hailey Baldwin, Charlie Puth, Camila Cabello, Joe Jonas, Jennette McCurdy and a ton more also showed their support for the “Advice” songstress after her tragic death.
In case you forgot, Christina got her start on YouTube, but quickly rose to fame after she was discovered by Selena’s mom, Mandy Teefey. Mandy and her husband Brian soon became her managers, and she went on to release an EP, called Find Me, and an album, called With Love. She also opened for the former Wizards of Waverly Place actress on her Stars Dance Tour. In 2014, she competed on Season 6 of The Voice, where she came in third place.
And let’s not forget the time she collaborated with Dove Cameron on their song, “What A Girl Is.” She seriously accomplished so much before her heartbreaking passing, and we cannot wait to hear her voice again on the new song.
