Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence have quickly become some of Hollywood's most respected leading ladies. It was only natural that two women with so much talent, personality and power would become quick friends — or at least that's what their co-star and mutual friend Woody Harrelson thought when he introduced them.
"She texted me that she got my number from Woody. I replied, 'F-ck off!' And we've been really good friends ever since. I feel like it was our version of The Notebook—365 texts," Jennifer told Vanity Fair, admitting that they texted every day for a whole year also adding that she thinks, "Emma is so normal and lovely."
Emma told her side of the story via e-mail saying that she did not feel all positive vibes when they first met saying: "She may not even know this, but there was definitely a time early on when I was like OH HEY MY EGO IS GOING NUTS SHE'S SO GREAT AND VIBRANT AND TALENTED I'M SCREWED I'LL NEVER WORK AGAIN GOODBYE YELLOW BRICK ROAD.' Then I chilled the f-ck out—and remembered we're completely different and there is room for everyone, even if it's an industry that doesn't really seem to support that idea up front.
"We both really do love each other and care about each other as people, beyond being actors. I support her completely when it comes to work and I feel the same from her, but I know we'd be friends even if we didn't do the same job."
"She has unbelievable clarity. She can witness a situation or meet a person and see through the entire thing almost instantly. It's stunning."
These two are giving us serious squad goals! Their honesty is so refreshing, especially Emma who admitted that she felt a bit threatened by J.Law until she realized there is enough success for both of them!
