After she attended the Grammy Awards on Sunday, January 26, YouTuber Nikita Dragun clapped back at fan who questioned her attendance at the star-studded event and she claimed that she was actually paid to attend.
“She’s always killin’ it and serving looks, but we all know she [doesn’t need] to be there. She’s an influencer & not an music artist,” an Instagram user commented on a video of Nikita on the red carpet.
The beauty guru was quick to respond and told the commenter that she was “just doing her job.”
“They gave me a check to go, so honestly, I’m just doing my job,” she replied.
Some other fans praised the influencer’s epic clap back and told her to “secure the bag” and “get that check.”
Previously, Nikita penned a heartfelt letter to her 5.8 million Instagram followers and explained what attending the Grammys meant to her.
“I changed my profile name to ‘Nikita Popstar Dragun’ and a couple [of] days later the literal Grammys sent me an invite,” she the beauty guru wrote. “What is my life honestly? I’m wondering just as much as anybody else. I will say I am glad to be reppin’ us Trans girls! The diversity and feminine power is at an all-time high this year and I am here for it.”
She continued, “Maybe one day I’ll be nominated for a Grammy too… I mean no dream is too big… [Ok let me] stop my fantasy now before I get ahead of myself.”
Fans and followers left Nikita commented positive messages on her inspiring post.
“You look better than majority than the actual pop stars,” one fan wrote. Another added, “I wanna see Nikita Dragun release some music.”
Even Nikita’s famous friends — like Paris Hilton and YouTuber Joey Graceffa — chimed in.
“Stunning mermaid,” Paris wrote. Joey joked, “I know a great scrub to exfoliate those barnacles growing on your face!”
