Maria Aragon was just a normal fifth grader and Lady Gaga fan in Canada when she decided to record a cover of "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga and upload it to her YouTube channel. That was until Gaga herself saw Maria's video and Tweeted it for all eight million of her Twitter followers to see. Maria became an instant sensation — Justin Bieber style — and her video gained 10 million views in just five days.

As Maria's YouTube fans grew, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres came across the video and immediately invited Maria to perform on her show. Then a radio station gave Maria the opportunity to talk to Lady Gaga on the air and Lady Gaga invited Maria to perform "Born This Way" on stage with her at her Toronto concert.

"I'm really excited Maria is here today because Maria represents what this song is all about, Gaga said before calling Maria up to the stage. "It's all about the next generation of the future."
