It’s official, you guys! Meghan Trainor and Daryl Sabara got married on Saturday, December 22 – and we couldn’t be more excited! Looks like our favorite “Dear Future Husband” singer has found her match for life! Best part? They made it official on Meghan’s 25th birthday.
Meghan took to Instagram to announce the news, writing, “I’m a wifey for lifey! Best birthday ever!!!!!! Thank you for everyone who helped make it happen… I Love you forever and always @darylsabara.”
Back in July, the 25-year-old singer told Us Weekly about why she’d love to tie the knot in December. “I think I wanna do it at Christmas time,” she said, adding that she wanted “lights everywhere” and for it “to be colder outside in L.A.”
Meghan and the 26-year-old former Spy Kids star got engaged in December 2017. They took to social media to announce the news in the sweetest way.
Meghan posted a clip from the moment, captioning it, “I SAID YESSSS!!!! For my 24th birthday, the love of my life @darylsabara made all of my dreams come true. He proposed to me under a tunnel of beautiful Christmas lights and surprised me with my family and friends. I’m still in shock. I’ve never been this happy! Thank you Daryl, my family and friends for making me feel like a real princess ????? and thank you @ryan.trainor for this amazing video that I’m gonna watch over and over again.”
Meghan previously explained in an interview how things started between the lovebirds.
“I met him once before, like, two years before we went on a date, but I was just a little songwriter.” she explained to Entertainment Tonight. “I went up to him at a party and was like, ‘Are you Spy Kids?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah!’ He was really nice about it and I never fangirled over celebrities and made a fool of myself, but to him I was like, ‘I love you, man! You’re so good!’ And then, two years later…we’re in love…It was a songwriter night and I wasn’t ‘Meghan Trainor, pop star.’ I was a songwriter hustling and he crashed our party with his friends and I immediately recognized him. I was like, ‘I’m gonna go up to him.'”
