After Pia Toscano's shocking elimination on American Idol this past season, rumors were swirling that she was signed by Interscope Records, but Pia stayed coy. "I don't know yet what's going on with that," Pia said at the time. "Hopefully good things."

And after almost three months since her elimination, it was officially announced that the Idol alum signed a contract with the label and will drop her first single "This Time" on July 12.
"I am thrilled to be joining the Interscope and 19 Recordings family," Pia says. "[Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman] Jimmy Iovine was an amazing mentor during my time on Idol and I'm looking forward to working with him and everyone at Interscope Records and 19 Recordings. This is a dream come true."
"This Time" is rumored to be an upbeat track written by Esther Dean, who also wrote Rihanna's hits "Rude Boy" and "What's My Name." Pia will perform "This Time" as part of her set on the American Idols Live! Tour.
