Our hearts are going out to Cory Monteith's loved ones today, as it is the 4-year anniversary of his tragic death. The actor died of an overdose on July 13, 2013, and today his former girlfriend is remembering him in a special way, which you can watch in the video below.
Cory's former girlfriend and Glee co-star Lea Michele is paying tribute today in a very sweet way. The actress took to Twitter to share a photo of herself wearing her late boyfriend's Glee varsity jacket while holding up a photo of the two. The former duo met in 2009 when they began working together on Glee, and started dating in 2012.
This isn't the first time Lea has dedicated a meaningful message to Cory. In fact, she has two songs "Hey You" and "If You Say So," which are about him and their relationship.
If one thing is for sure, Lea carries Cory with her wherever she goes. The actress has three tattoos in honor of Cory. Aside from the "Finn" tattoo, Lea also has a "5" under her arm in honor of the Glee star's football number he wore on the show.
The phrase "If You Say So" isn't just the name of one of her songs. It was actually the last words Cory ever said to her, and that too is tattooed onto Lea's body.
We are sending our thoughts and prayers to Lea and all of Cory's loved ones today.
