Nikki Yanofsky has accomplished a great deal at the age of 16. She released her debut album "Nikki" this past summer and has performed with many of today's hottest artists like Justin Bieber, Drake, and Avril Lavigne. But she's still a regular teen at heart. The singer collects Converse shoes and is a huge Twilight fan!

J-14: What was the first song you sang? Can you remember?
Nikki Yanofsky: We actually have a video of me when I am two years old with a little bow in my hair, like Pebbles, singing Old MacDonald. But I think every kid does that. The ironic thing is that I actually sing that now, but a totally different arrangement of it. So it is really cool. I remember the first song I actually sang in concert was "Respect" and "Chain of Fools" and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." I sang three for different charities. I've always been a very big advocate of philanthropy and raising money for different causes that I believe in. That is kind of how I got my start.
J-14: Do you ever get stage fright?
Nikki: To be honest, I get excited. I don't really get nervous before a show unless something is terribly wrong like, "Oh I've never played with these guys and what if they mess up or what if I mess up because I'm not used to playing with these musicians?" That is the only time. I guess when you are comfortable with what you are doing, there is no real reason to be nervous. But I was extremely nervous for the Olympics because I was wearing five inch heels and I had to walk down stairs. I was like, "Please don't fall." I am known for being very klutzy and I fall over flat surfaces and trip up the stairs. I was just worried that I would fall.
J-14: You did Canada's Young Artists for Haiti "Wavin' Flag" with Justin Bieber. What is he like?
Nikki: He is one of the nicest guys, I swear. I have met him twice. He is really personable. He remembers you. He is nice. The first time I met him I was like, "Hi, I'm Nikki." He's like, "Hi, I'm Justin." Obviously I knew who he was. But the second time he remembered me. He was like, "Nikki! How are you?" with a big hug. He's just a really nice guy.
J-14: Do you read the Twilight series at all?
Nikki: Oh yeah. I demolished those books in two weeks. I was obsessed. I am definitely Team Edward. I love Jacob but I think it is just because I read the books before I saw the movies. I had my own idea of Edward, and Robert Pattinson just fit it so perfectly that I am definitely Team Edward. He is perfect. I was confused in the last movie just because Taylor Lautner looked so good and in reality, he is closer to my age. I was like, "I'm at a cross road. I am so torn."
J-14: Is there something people would be surprised to find out about you?
Nikki: I've had the same journal since I was in grade five. Literally, I haven't filled it up yet. I forget to write for months at a time. It is really funny because whenever I write stuff now, I can go back to when I was ten years old writing it in. You see the character development and it is kind of like reading a book, but it is just me writing. That is probably something that is surprising.
