Katy Perry has a lot to smile about these days. Aside from releasing an album and showing a part of herself fans have never seen before, the singer has also been known to break a few records here and there.
It all started with Twitter, she’s had the most followers for years – making her the undisputed queen of tweets and she’s not losing her crown anytime soon.
The “Roar” singer just reached a huge milestone, and beat her own record of followers. Earlier this year, Katy has over 90 million followers, and now she’s crossed into the 100 million-follower mark!
Yup! Over 100 million people in the world not only follow the songstress on social media, but they also read each of her tweets.
Twitter shared a great video of Katy’s best tweets and moments throughout the years that of course featured the infamous Left Shark and wrote, "Today, we #WITNESS history. Congratulations @katyperry, the first to reach 100 million followers! #LoveKaty."
The singer of course saw the shout-out and retweeted the video with the caption, "Thank you, @Twitter, for always giving me an opportunity to have a voice! #LoveKaty."
Fans stop at nothing to show their love for the singer, and they've done so through the power of emojis. Twitter also revealed what emojis people use most when tweeting about the singer, and of course it's nothing but love for her and the music.
This is huge! Katy has officially become the first person ever to reach the 100 million follower mark, and we bet it'll only be a matter of time before she reaches the 200 million mark.
