From the looks of it, people are not happy with Tana Mongeau after she took to Instagram on Tuesday, November 12 and posted pictures of her appearance at the 2019 People’s Choice Awards. The YouTube star shared a collection of images showing off her stunning red look, along with the caption, “Not THE people’s choice but SOME people’s choice so that’s cool.”
After some investigation, it turned out these photos had been heavily edited to give the blonde beauty a whole new look.
Fans were quick to call out the 21-year-old and they accused her of photoshopping the pictures until she was unrecognizable. One Twitter user even posted a side-by-side of the unedited image next to the one Tana posted. The difference between the two is shocking.
“My new favorite thing: going to the Getty Images website and seeing celebrities pictures before photoshop for example, Tana Mongeau,” they wrote.
Some fans replied to the image and sent messages to Tana pleading her to stop using the FaceTune app because she’s already beautiful.
“She looks AMAZING in her original photos [I don’t know] why she feels the need to edit them,” one fan wrote, with another adding, “I find it so crazy because I think in the OG she looks good but it’s only until you start comparing you think she looks bad (which she doesn’t).”
Other people took to the social media site and called her out for perpetuating the idea that people on social media need to look a certain way to get noticed.
“It looks nothing like her.. people FaceTune so much now, that’s why I try to tell myself that the Instagram models we see really don’t look like that in person lmao,” one Twitter user wrote. Another agreed and said, “Mama this is fraud…. this is why people including myself are so stuck in our heads [about] always needing to look a certain way.”
Tana has yet to respond to these criticisms, but as fans know, back in 2018 she famously tweeted about her obsession with the FaceTune. app.
“People keep asking, so, my skin care routine !!!!!! It’s FaceTune. That’s it. That’s my skin care routine,” she wrote. So, her edits shouldn’t come as a surprise to followers.
