The world is still mentally processing how truly epic Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s wedding was and you know, accepting that fact that two out of the three Jonas Brothers are now married men. And it looks like Nick might be throwing us all for another loop soon, as he’s already made it clear he’s ready to take on another role in his life: being a dad. Cue the sobs as we imagine another Papa Jonas.

“I definitely want to be a father someday,” Nick said while appearing on Spotify’s The Rewind with Guy Raz. “I think that’s a real dream, and I think I have had to grow up pretty quick. With that, you could look at it two ways, you could say that was unfair, or you could say it has given me some real perspective at an early age. And I have seen a lot of life at an early age and I hope to be able to share that with a kid of my own someday.”

OUR HEARTS. Not too long before this, Nick’s 36-year-old wife admitted they’re both totally ready to be parents and want to have kids, so we’re all just waiting for the announcement that another lil Jonas is on the way. Who knows, maybe he’ll have another Jo Bros band on his hands. Also in the podcast, the 26-year-old “Jealous” singer opened up about living the boy band life with his brothers, Kevin and Joe, and how having to deal with the constant attention on their personal lives when they were young teens was a challenge for them since they just simply wanted to make good music.

“I think there were some unrealistic expectations and also just too much emphasis on adolescents’ love life and other things, it’s sort of a fickle time. But I just chose to see it as something that was kind of funny. I just turned my real life into songs and I would pour my real stories in there. I was talking about love and relationships and sort of trying to wrap my head around this new life we had stepped into,” Nick explained.

And ask for the music he made with the band? There are records he is super proud of and others, well, not so much. But as Nick explained, he and his brothers experienced such massive success so young but then, they literally grew up and things naturally started to take a turn.

“On A Little Bit Longer, that record is the one I’m most proud of. It’s our best one and there were times I thought perhaps our teen phenomenon thing was limiting people’s ability to see that the actual music was solid. Lines, Vines, and Trying Times although it was successful, was not as successful as the ones before it,” Nick said. “And I think that in large part was due to the album had a little bit of scatterbrained mentality, which I think as sort of the start of the disconnect for us as the brothers creatively but also with the audience. When our oldest brother Kevin has aged out of a Disney Channel program and we’re still on there, it started to feel inauthentic to the audience. And I’m just more willing to accept all this now than I did in the moment, but I think this all attributed to the decline that started with us emotionally and as family and career-wise.”

Being a child star for sure had a massive impact on his life so it’s unclear if he and Priyanka are going to want their kids to be working in the business at such a young age too. But maybe a new Jonas family band will naturally come about, as Kevin already has two adorable daughters. We have a feeling the Jonases are all just getting started.
