Nothing’s official until it’s Instagram official, right? Well, maybe not, but posting something on social media can definitely make a big statement. And that’s what Priyanka Chopra just did! The actress married Nick Jonas last weekend, and now she’s gone ahead and changed her Instagram name to Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and naturally, we’re all freaking out.
Ahhh, it’s got a nice ring to it, doesn’t it? The 36-year-old has added her new hubby’s last name to her profile but has kept her Instagram username the same (@priyankachopra). As for her other social media accounts, like Twitter and Facebook, her name doesn’t mention Jonas yet.
The two got married in the actress’ home country of India last weekend over the course of a four-day, lavish celebration. They had a traditional Hindu ceremony as well as a Christian one, where the actress wore a breathtaking, hand-beaded and embroidered Ralph Lauren gown with a stunning 75-foot long veil. Both stars’ families were all in attendance, including Nick’s brothers — Joe and his fiancé Sophie Turner, Kevin and his wife Danielle, and the infamous “Bonus Jonas,” Frankie! They had multiple parties to celebrate their love, including a Sangeet, which is an Indian tradition in which both families performed elaborate musical numbers complete with choreography and costumes. It all took place in a gorgeous palace that used to be home to the Indian royals (no biggie), and the whole thing looked like a real-life fairytale.
Priyanka isn’t the only celebrity making a big statement by changing her Instagram name recently. Last month, Hailey Baldwin went ahead and changed her last name to Bieber on the social media networking site and fans were pretty shook. As J-14 readers know, the model tied the knot with Justin Bieber back in September.
We’re loving the look of Priyanka’s new Instagram profile, but we’re low-key jealous we aren’t changing our last names to Jonas, LOL.
