According to Niki DeMartino, she’s still friends with Rachel Weiss after the recent Niki & Gabi Take Bahamas drama. For those who missed it, during the fifth episode of the AwesomenessTV reality show, it was revealed that Rachel almost didn’t make it on the show because she never “brought the drama” in previous seasons. So, what did she do during their Bahamas trip? Brought the drama!
Yep, in the reality show’s most recent episode, Rachel got into a pretty nasty fight with Niki’s sister Alex DeMartino, which led to some fan backlash. Some people even questioned why Niki was still friends with Rachel. So, in a video uploaded to Niki’s channel on Monday, May 18, the girls sat down, addressed their friendship, the drama and Rachel’s involvement in the show.
Despite the show’s viewers telling Niki to “do the right thing” and stop hanging out with Rachel after the on-camera fight with Alex, the internet star explained to her 2 million subscribers that some of the show’s scenes were dramatized, and they don’t know the full story.
“We go onto the show with an understanding that we’re going to fight with people and you expect it. There are a lot of nights that we end up crying and we work it out,” Rachel explained. Niki added, “Read between the lines, trust my judgement with who I surround myself with. Please trust me…It hurts me to my core, seeing comments about me being friends with Rachel.”
The social media star concluded, “What’s best for me right now, is being around Rachel.”
As fans know, before Niki & Gabi Take Bahamas premiered, the girls chatted with J-14 and teased some seriously “explosive drama” as the episodes aired. Well, now that we’re five episodes in, it’s safe to say that this might be the most dramatic season yet.
