YouTuber Niki DeMartino has taken to social media and got super real about her worry during the current coronavirus outbreak. Not only did the 24-year-old share ways to stay safe and healthy with her 1.7 million Twitter followers, but also expressed her concerns for people’s mental health.
“Mental health is gonna get low in the next few months with people trapped inside with nothing to look forward too,” she tweeted on Thursday, March 12.
In a separate tweet, the internet star also explained that she felt bad for students who may not get to graduate because of all the schools and universities closing to prevent spreading of the illness.
“I feel for the students who are robbed of a graduation, prom, senior week, and memorable moments they can’t ever get again thanks to corona,” the influencer added.
As fans know, Niki isn’t the only YouTube star to opened up about the coronavirus on social media. Her tweet came just a few days after Shane Dawson opened up about his anxiety and told fans that he’s “genuinely spiraling” because of the virus.
“I don’t want to add to the anxiety of the situation but I’m genuinely spiraling about the coronavirus and I just don’t really know how to process all of this. If [you’re] feeling the same just know it’s ok to be worried right now even if people tell you you’re overreacting,” he posted to Twitter on Wednesday, March 11.
He also posted a series of Instagram Stories videos shortly after writing the tweet and further explained how he’s been feeling.
“I’m trying not to get too freak out, but I freak out about everything,” he explained. “Today, I woke up feeling really weird, really paranoid, really anxious… So I just want to say, if you’re paranoid and anxious and freaking out, it’s okay, I am too.”
