The second season of Riverdale is currently underway, with the cast and crew all in Vancouver working hard, filming 22 brand new episodes that naturally we're all going to obsess over once the show returns in October. With so much buzz around the series, everyone wants to know if any special guests will be dropping by this twisted town and if any of your fave actors will be guest-starring on the series, including the beloved Sabrina Carpenter.

Sabs just dropped the music video for her new single "Why" and the love interest in her video is one any Riverdale fan will freak out over.

Yes, that cutie is Casey Cott, Kevin himself! Oh, and did we mention that the pair shares a kiss in the vid too?

They really look so cute together! Casey went to see Sabrina's De-Tour concert when she was in Vancouver, and everyone wanted to know exactly how he and Sabrina became friends. Did this mean she was going to be passing through the show? Well, it doesn't appear that way, since she's super busy out on the road and focused on music at the moment, so don't think Sabs will be appearing on the show. But she's not the only star who has been rumored to make an appearance this season and we're here to set it all straight. At least with all the knowledge we have. Let's dive in:

Jake Paul is rumored to be playing Betty and Polly Cooper's older brother.

The controversial web star had a lead role on the Disney Channel series Bizaardvark, but he and the network parted ways since Jake wants to focus on creating more mature content. There was a rumor going around that he could be playing the role of Betty's long lost older brother we haven't met yet. While there hasn't been any concrete proof of this, Marisol Nichols, who plays Veronica's mom Hermione Lodge on the show, pretty much shut it down with one tweet.

"News to me," she responded back to a fan who asked if Jake would be on the show. And Lili Reinhart, the one and only Betty Cooper, said this was simply all just a rumor too.

And since then, it's been announced by TVLine that newcomer Hart Denton would be playing the role of Chic, the long-lost eldest Cooper son. So we're going to take that as a flat no, Jake is not going to appear on Riverdale. Like ever.

Melissa Benoist might be bringing Supergirl to Riverdale.

melissa benoist

The Supergirl actress is already a part of the CW family, but showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has been playfully fueling rumors that a crossover episode is coming. He shared a photo on Twitter of Melissa in costume, hanging out with Betty and Veronica, along with the caption, "Can a crossover be far behind?"

TBH we're not quite sure how a crossover would fit in, but this isn't the first time the actress has stopped by the Riverdale set. In September 2016, she was photographed meeting up with Cole and KJ. Since both shows are filmed in Vancouver and Greg Berlanti produces both of these CW hits, this meeting-of-the-shows makes total sense.

Lucy Hale fueled rumors she's appearing on Riverdale.

Lucy is leaving her Pretty Little Liars days behind her and is now starring on the upcoming CW series, Life Sentence. Riverdale is also on the same network and she's already chummy with some of the co-stars. Take for example when Cheryl Blossom herself Madelaine Petsch posted a cute pic of four of the RD ladies having some fun, goofing around on set on Instagram and Lucy commented saying she wishes she was there with them (same girl) and Madelaine commented back, saying they would recreate this pic one Lucy is "here."

Here as in on the Riverdale set??? Well, before we get too excited, there's a good chance that Lucy's new series, Life Sentence, will be filming in Vancouver too, since a few of The CW's shows film there, so that could be what Madelaine is referring to. So is Lucy going to be on the show? The verdict is still out on that, but we're safe to say that's a solid no.

Dove Cameron is rumored to be playing Sabrina Spellman.

dove cameron

Dove has expressed an interest to portray the character Sabrina Spellman as in you know, Sabrina the Teenage Witch. She is also a character from the Archie Comics universe so of course there's been plenty of speculation as to whether this character would appear on the show. Since the series doesn't have any supernatural themes to it, might be a bit out of place for a witch to show up, but Dove made it clear she would be down for it.

And Riverdale cast members said they would love to see her in the role too. So as of right now, there hasn't been any official confirmation that the character Sabrina is coming to the show, but while Dove was in rehearsals for her role in Mamma Mia! at the Hollywood Bowl, she did admit again it's something she would be down to do. And fun fact: she already knows most of the cast!

"I love Riverdale, I know the cast. They were shooting that actually as we were shooting Descendants 2 so we're all like, 'Hey guys!' They were in the same hotel. I would definitely be open to it," Dove spilled in a new interview. "I love the character of Sabrina obviously. I was a huge fan of the original Archie Comics, that's like all I read when I was little. So I'd be open to it! I don't want to let down any fans or anything like that, but if they wanted me, I would go."

She sometime later shared a photo of Sabrina from the Archie Comics on her Instagram. "No… We Modern Witches Believe Life Should Be a Ball!" the pic read, where we see Sabrina lounging on the couch with her beloved black cat.

Could this be confirmation she's really going to be Sabrina on Season 2? Well, the verdict is still out on that one. Dove has always been an Archie Comics fan and in this photo, she happens to look so much like Sabrina, from the hair to chilling with her cat in a cute outfit while listening to music, so it could all just be one big coincidence. So this one is still up in the air. Sort of.

Fans speculated Tyler Blackburn might be returning to TV with a role on Riverdale.

Another PLL alum! But this one legit came out of thin air. There was a rumor going around that Tyler would possibly be on the show, but this one seems to have just been thanks to some creative fans with high hopes expressing their interest in seeing him on the series. Hey, we would be so here for this, so although this is just a straight-up rumor, for now, we're here for it.

Debby Ryan is already a fan of Riverdale and has a special connection to the show.

OK, so Debby possibly guest-starring on the show might just be something we totally wish would happen, since you know, she's BFF with Cole Sprouse and Lili. Plus, seeing Cole and Debby back in action on TV together would be a dream come true. She is a fan of the show, as she's proven time and time again.

But since she'll be filming her own series on Netflix, Insatiable, she might be a bit busy at the moment. Still, holding out hope for this one.

Is Dylan Sprouse going to reunite on-screen with his twin, Cole?

dylan and cole sprouse

Obviously, Dylan is Cole's real-life brother and since they're twins, everyone has wondered if Dyl would be making an appearance as Souphead, Jughead's cousin who happens to look like him. As much as we would all love to see the bros acting together again, this is a rumor Cole has 100% shot down.

"We've had people talk about Souphead, or whatever his name is. That to me is also one of those things that one, I'm hard-pressed to think Dylan would ever say yes to and that I would ever approve of. And two, that wouldn't break fourth wall," Cole explained to E News. "We live in this universe where if Dylan came on as an identical twin cousin to Jughead, people would be like, 'What does this have to do with [the show]?' It's just one of those things that it would be hard, but if it makes an appearance, who knows."

So there we have it: actually no confirmed guest-stars for Season 2 but with all the drama that Season 1 left us with, safe to say with the crop of characters we have, they've given us enough to deal with it!
