Sel's mom, Mandy Teefey, used the new couple's debut on the red carpet to show just how much she approves of Abel dating her first child.

Mandy reshared a black and white photo that the singer posted on Instagram telling them to have fun with the caption, "@selenagomez @theweeknd enjoy the ball…."

The Canadian singer shared a photo of them together on his Instagram account and Mandy commented saying the sweetest thing ever! She wrote: "Glowing, smiling, looking health and equal love. Mama is happy XO."
How sweet is that? Selena does look radiant and full of life with this relationship as compared to her past public relationships, so it is clear why her mom totally supports it. Other stars also approved of the relationship with Kehlani liking and commenting The Weeknd's post, and several stars liked their photos like Lauren Jauregui.
It is SO good seeing Sel and The Weeknd having so much fun together and that the people closest to them are noticing just how good the relationship is for both of them. Having your parents' support and approval in your relationships can make them more pleasant and often, parents do know best when it comes to these things.

There were reports that Sel had already met her new boyfriend's mother when she was in Canada, so maybe we will get a photo of Abel and Mandy sometime soon? A girl can dream.
