Yep, it's time — RIP Haylor. While Harry Styles' name has been uttered in the same breath as Taylor Swift's ever since she dropped 1989, her music video for "Out of the Woods" is the catharsis Swifties have been waiting for. The pop star premiered the video for her peak-Haylor song on New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest, and it's possibly the most victorious way to enter 2016.
The song is about the frantic feeling of staying in an anxiety-producing, unstable-but-oh-so-thrilling relationship. She wrote it about Harry, but it's not a lovelorn breakup anthem. Although there are Haylor references (she tears a necklace off her neck after she famously wore his paper airplane charm, she's being chased around by wolves and One Direction has a song called "Wolves" on their latest album), there's no more Hazza angst. She's moved beyond that.
Taylor falls into the mud, into the snow, claws herself out of the forest of her own creation. But the journey is all hers. Take a deep breath in. Do you feel that? Do you? That's what it's like to be out of the woods, finally.
