Zayn Malik is a name known around the world but according to the Bradford bad boy he wants a change!
Wait…isn't he going through enough changes?!
Zayn's first ever solo album is set to drop this Friday, just one year after he made the announcement that he was leaving One Direction. And in anticipation of the new album, Mind of Mine, Zayn has been doing lots of press including the interview with Complex magazine where he revealed lots of secrets including some things he was banned from doing while singing with 1D.
He also opened up about why he wants to change his name and what he wants to be called!

Zayn said he wants to completely drop his last name. Lots of big time stars have done this like Adele and Madonna but can Zayn pull it off??
He said, "It just fits me more. I don't know anybody who goes by the first name and their surname with friends and family. I wanted it to be more personal I guess in that sense."
It makes sense that just going by Zayn is more personal and might allow fans to feel like they are more connected to the superstar. But, having just a first time means you are setting yourself up to be a legend. But hey, who knows, when Mind of Mine drops Zayn might be classified as just that!
