Girls around the world ogle at Gigi Hadid's coveted girl squad.
From private jets to luxury vacations to modeling on the same runaway as her besties, Gigi and her friends live nothing short than a fabulous life. But, becoming one of the gals isn't as easy as it seems. The group spans a wide range of celebrities including Taylor Swift, Kendall Jenner, Ruby Rose and Blake Lively.
In a new interview with Harper's Bazaar, Gigi opens up about the friends in her life and why she doesn't need anymore. Not only that but she also talks about the friends that she has lost along this crazy journey towards stardom.
It's clear that some people in her past just couldn't handle the fast pace lifestyle that she now leads.
Gigi said that when fame happens, "a lot of interesting things in friends come out. So, in a way, it's good because you learn that it's better to have a few really good friends than tons of friends you aren't really sure about.
There are people who understand that I love them and who know that when I get back to town I'm going to call them, but sometimes I can't call every day because I'm in weird places. I've lost a lot of friends because I'll get busy for a short period of time, and they're not reaching out, but if I don't reach out, then it's like I've changed."
She finished off by saying, "The time I do have off, it's not even enough to give everyone I love attention. I'm good with [the friends] I've got."
One thing is for sure, this girl knows what she wants and she's good with the people in her life. While this may seem kind of harsh, we kind of get it. Gigi's life is undoubtedly busy so for someone to accuse her of changing just because she has a hectic schedule is probably hurtful.
Taylor, who has been one of Gigi's right-hand girls for years now, spoke up about their friendship. It's adorable and only solidifies what Gigi said. The friends in her life right now are the ones she wants to keep.
Taylor said, "As a friend, Gigi is one of the first people I go to for advice. She has this incredible ability to see all sides of a situation and simplify it for you, to see the complexity of people. Gigi's No. 1 rule is to treat people the way she'd want to be treated, so she's on time (or early) to work, says hello to everyone on set, asks them how they are, and actually listens to their response."
One thing is for sure, this squad is unbreakable.
