‘Wide Open’

Jamie gushed that she is “wide open” for a Freaky Friday sequel and even revealed that she’s written to Disney+ about it in an October 2022 interview with The View.

“Lindsay Lohan and me back in Freaky Friday. She just made a Christmas movie, I believe, and she got married … It’s all good. Bring it! Let me be the grandma, let me be the old grandma who switches places, so then Lindsay gets to be the sexy grandma who’s still happy with Mark Harmon in all the ways you would be happy with Mark Harmon,” she continued.
She added, “I would like to see Lindsay be the hot grandma, and I would like to see me try to deal with toddlers today. I want to be a helicopter parent in today’s world.” While there hasn’t been any indication that a sequel is happening just yet, according to a new report by TMZ, Lindsay is “interested” in a Freaky Friday sequel.

‘Both Be Into It’

While appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Lindsay said she and Jamie Lee discussed the sequel after she got a surprise message from her former costar. “I was on set filming at the time and Jamie Lee Curtis writes you and you just get excited and distracted immediately. So I had to bring myself down to earth,” Lindsay told host Jimmy Fallon. “Then she said ‘Freaky Friday 2’ and I got more excited. We would both be into it.”

A Hint?

On November 11, Jamie posted an old photo of herself and Lindsay years ago on the Freaky Friday red carpet — and her Instagram caption had fans heads spinning! “Seeing @lindsaylohan sleigh the carpets and circuit shows with her Falling For Christmas @netflix movie makes me miss our time together and it’s Friday so I’m sayin I freakin miss her!”

Disney Is ‘Interested’

“There is no scheduled date, but we’re talking,” Jamie told Variety on November 15, 2022.“People are talking. The right people are talking.”

“I’m 64 in a week and Lindsay is 36 … [A sequel] lends itself so beautifully,” the Knives Out actress continued. “We’re both committed to it, and it’s not ours to make. It’s Disney’s to make and I think they’re interested and we’re talking.”

‘Gonna Be Good’

“We are all down to do it,” Jamie told E! News in December 2022 of Freaky Friday 2, admitting that’s it’s “not up to us [the original cast] right now.”

“But I think everyone who needs to know knows, and clearly we are in conversation,” she assured. “It’s gonna be good.”

Jamie’s Ready

Jamie Lee Curtis told Variety she’s “ready” for Freaky Friday 2 on the 2023 Golden Globes red carpet. “It’s up to Disney,” she said. “I know that Lindsay [Lohan] wants to do it. I want to do it.”
