Get ready, guys, because the Friends cast has spilled some much-needed tea on the upcoming reunion special that’s coming soon to HBO Max. That’s right, stars of the fan-favorite sitcom, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow, recently teamed up for a candid conversation where they not only looked back at their time on the show, but also teased what’s to come.

“I think it’s going to be really fun also when we, if we ever get out of quarantine, get to do our reunion show,” Jennifer told her former costar as part of Variety‘s Actors on Actors series. Lisa added, “Yes, that will be really great. I can’t wait to do that. I really can’t wait to do that.”

For those who forgot, back in November 2019, it was announced via The Hollywood Reporter that the iconic show’s six core stars — Jennifer and Lisa, along with Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perryand David Schwimmer — and showrunners were in talks to reunite for an unscripted special for HBO Max. Then, in May, Bob Greenblatt, WarnerMedia Entertainment and Direct-to-Consumer chairman, said that the the highly-anticipated show — which was delayed due to the current coronavirus pandemic — is still slated to hit the streaming service this year.

But get this — according to the actresses during their recent chat, they have no idea what the reunion special will entail!

“Yeah, we don’t know everything about it, we need to say. I think we’re meant to be surprised by some things as well. Yeah, no. I will not be Phoebe,” Lisa explained. Then Jennifer said, “We know it’s not scripted, that we know. I will not be Rachel, although I kind of am. Well, we’re all sort of little fragments of them. Not really, but yeah.”

As fans know, the idea for a reboot was first teased by Jennifer herself. In October 2019, while on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the actress said that cast was definitely planning something for the future. Fans have speculated that Jennifer was hinting at this special during the daytime talkshow appearance.
