It’s been two years since Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield called it quits on their relationship, but the friendly exes might get back together in the near future, according to a new report. Sources tell People that the former co-stars still have mad love for one another.

“They never stopped caring about each other,” a source told the magazine of the former couple, who split in 2015 after nearly four years together. “Even when they split, Emma and Andrew had great love and respect for each other.”

In May, Emma, 28, ignited romance rumors when she visited Andrew, 34, in London during a break from filming his movie The Favourite. Andrew had been starring in the 25th anniversary reboot of Angels in America at the National Theatre. The play ended its months-long run on Saturday, Aug. 20 — and, according to People, Emma came out for the final performance. “She was in the audience watching the show,” an eyewitness told the publication. “She left backstage with him.”

Though one source said that “the feeling between them is still romantic,” another insider insisted that their current relationship is nothing more than platonic. Another source close to Emma said that the two are very much focused on their careers and have been giving each other advice. “They care about each other and encourage the other’s career,” the insider explained. “They’re great friends.”

However, the source did say that the Oscar-winning actress and Andrew would start dating again “if the timing is right.” The genetically blessed duo met in 2011 on set of The Amazing Spider-Man and always kept mum about their relationship. During a July 2015 interview with the Wall Street Journal — not long after Emma and Andrew took a brief break — the La La Land star revealed why she likes to keep quiet about her love life.

“I never talk about this stuff for this exact reason — because it’s all so speculative and baseless,” she explained at the time. “I understand the interest in it completely, because I’ve had it, too. But it’s so special to me that it never feels good to talk about, so I just continually don’t talk about it.”
