If you’re not already familiar with singer Ashley Brinton – well then, prepare to be obsessed. Aside from releasing her latest single “Say the Word,” the star has a ton of jams that will give you total dance party vibes.
Ashley was actually discovered by Tommy Mattola at age 13, when she posted her first music video on YouTube. He set her up with Jennifer Lopez’s producer, Cory Rooney – and they have been working together ever since! Yep, that’s right, she started off young and hasn’t slowed down since.
“I started singing when I was about 7-years-old – I did little, small performances at my school, local theaters, and stuff like that. And I started doing it professionally when I was about 13,” she said in an interview with Justine Magazine.
She also grew up singing songs from the artists she admired!
“Growing up I always knew I wanted to be a performer and music was always a big passion of mine. I remember singing at piano recitals when I was small, I can’t even believe I was that young,” she told All Access Music. “I also remember grabbing the microphone at my parents parties and just singing Lady Gaga or Taylor Swift etc. and just getting everyone up dancing. I knew at that point that’s what I wanted to do. I can’t picture myself doing anything else.”
And have we mentioned that her music videos are straight fire? The vid for “Slow Down” is a huge fave.
“My song ‘Slow Down’ puts every player in their place,” Ashley told Justine Magazine. “The video is fresh, fun and very different than my other music videos.”
