When it comes to making money on TikTok, Charli D’Amelio can reportedly get up to $40,000 for one promotional post! That’s right, according to Rolling Stone, the 16-year-old influencer gets paid to help market up and coming artists who don’t have the backing of a major music label.

Eric Parker, manager of Tiagz explained that the popular video sharing app gives little artists a chance.”

“People who don’t have the budget of a major label have a chance to market themselves,” he added.

Big names in the music industry — like Justin Bieber and his song “Yummy” — have also taken to the platform to make a hit. But when it comes to getting the most followed people on the app to use a song in their videos, sometimes there’s a pretty hefty fee involved. Some digital marketers revealed to the publication that Charli will sometimes charge $25,000 for a post, but it’s usually as high as $30,000 to $40,000, especially since she’s the most followed person on the app with over 62 million followers.

As for other TikTok stars, Addison Rae — who has racked up over 44 million followers — reportedly charges $20,000, while Chase Hudson, with over 21 million followers, will get anywhere from $2,000 to $10,000 for a post. Others, like JustMaiko, costs between $10,000 to $15,000, while Ondreaz and Tony Lopez with their 17 million followers get $2,500 to $5,000 for one post. Even Cowboy Cale, with over 2.6 million subscribers, can get anywhere from $2,500 to $3,500.

One marketer even told Rolling Stone that putting money behind these campaigns is a risk because it “might not generate anything.”

“Especially during the pandemic, when everyone is home and locked down on the platform, it’s even more difficult to grab people’s attention, because there’s such a volume of content,” Tim Collins, who’s company — Creed Media — has worked with major music labels for various TikTok collaborations, said. “Putting thousands of dollars behind one post that you assume will make that dent — that might not generate anything.”
