Ever since Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama called it quits after six years of dating, she hasn’t been shy about bringing her new relationships into the public eye. Both Luke Rockhold and Guilherme ‘Bomba’ Vasconcelos were wrapped around the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer’s finger, but we couldn’t help but wonder how she initially started talking to each of them. Demi has previously mentioned that she met ‘Bomba’ while working out at the gym, but we had our reservations about that.

Even though she IS Demi Lovato, she’s still a person. It’s hard to just go up to someone IRL. It’s even harder to go up to them when you’re all sweaty at the gym, even if you have full level confidence. So, here we are, still wondering how she started talking to these guys. Not to mention, we can’t stop thinking about how Demi starts talking to any guy she finds attractive. She’s so busy, how does she even find the time? Finally, we may have gotten some answers.

Demi chatted with BBC News and really opened up about her dating life. We were shocked to find out that Demi slides into hot guys’ DMs (direct messages, DUH) just like you and me. When asked whether or not dating is hard in the public eye, she said, “It’s easy and it’s difficult, too. But it’s kind of nice because if you find somebody attractive, you can just hit them up or, like, slide into their DMs [direct messages] and be like, ‘Hey, what’s going on?'” Yassss, girl. And, of course, why WOULDN’T they answer?! She’s freaking Demi Lovato.

However, on the other hand, dating doesn’t always work out in her favor. She recalled a guy who played games with her and it was so not cool. The only positive thing about the situation is that she wrote a song about the experience. Demi said, “Like one of the songs, ‘Games,’ I went on a bad date and I wrote a song about it.” But, when BBC News pressed her about this bad date, she wouldn’t give away who the guy was. Womp.

Demi said, “I’d rather not say. But just being disrespected. This guy just treated me really poorly, and was playing games the whole time.” Yikes. It’s safe to say that it wasn’t Luke or ‘Bomba’ because she dated them for quite some time. If they had disrespected her like this and treated her so poorly that she had to write a song about it, it’s hard to believe she would have kept them around for longer than a hot second. Demi proved that there really are two sides to dating when you’re a big-time celebrity. As easy as it is to snag a date and slide into someone’s DMs, it’s even easier to be disrespected.
