Drew Starkey has come a long way since booking Netflix’s Outer Banks! Keep reading for a list of all of the actor’s upcoming projects including films, shows and more.
Season 1 of Outer Banks first premiered in February 2020, launching the entire cast of newcomers into stardom overnight. Alongside Rudy, the fan-favorite series is comprised of Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey and Jonathan Daviss.
In the whirlwind year that followed the young stars and their skyrocket to fame, they’ve had nothing but amazing things to say about each other in various interviews and are super supportive of one another.
“It was very tight-knit, so the filming of the first season felt very intimate in the best way possible. We really vibe with our crew and our cast, obviously. We immediately had chemistry, and we immediately started hanging out, which is amazing,” Madelyn told Grazia magazine in May 2021. “We all, kind of, started in the same place when we got the show, and we just stuck together. We’re all going through the same thing and it just helps to have people around you who understand and who are there for you. We keep each other grounded and we hype each other up. We’re all each other’s best hype man.”
As for Drew, his character of Rafe on the show is a bit, well, evil. However, he told People Magazine that he wanted to make his character multi-dimensional during an interview from February 2023.
“What me and showrunners [Josh Pate, Jonas Pate and Shannon Burke] wanted to establish early on was not making some bad guy just for the sake of making a bad guy,” he began. “He’s constantly at a push-and-pull with what he’s going through internally and even though he makes some pretty insanely stupid decisions, he struggles with those.”
He added, “There’s just a little hint of maybe he’s still a good person, but ultimately he gives into his internal thoughts too much.”
