Obsessed with the new Netflix series 13 Reasons Why? Us too. People won't stop buzzing about the groundbreaking show, which was executive produced by Selena Gomez and her mom Mandy Teefey – but that comes to no surprise considering the star-studded cast is truly incredible. Leading lady Katherine Langford, in particular, has been praised for her outstanding performance portraying the role of Hannah Baker.
It is super impressive that Hannah was Katherine's very first acting role, but what got her into the entertainment business in the first place? Turns out, her career was completely inspired by one iconic superstar. It's none other than Lady Gaga.
You see, acting isn't Katherine's only passion. She is also very musically talented, and Lady Gaga was actually the reason why she taught herself how to play the piano a few years back.
"I went to see Born This Way," the Aussie actress revealed in an interview. "I don’t know what happened. It was like a spiritual experience, and I was so moved by her performance that I went home and that week I taught myself how to play piano."
It's safe to say Katherine isn't just any old fan – her love for the singer is on another level.
"I am a massive Little Monster. She's my queen. Christian Navarro, who plays Tony on 13 Reasons Why, had a karaoke birthday party and I did 'Born This Way.' I was so into it that halfway through, I stood up on the table. The song immediately cut off, and I was told to get down! I love a good rock-out," she said in an interview.
LOL – that's one serious karaoke jam. The starlet's Lady Gaga obsession doesn't go unnoticed though. In fact, Gaga tweeted at Katherine – and it was an absolute pinch-me moment for her. It all started when a fan tweeted at Gaga telling her that she was the reason Katherine got into acting.
"Katherine," she replied back, heart emoji and all.
Katherine's reaction? Priceless.
"She knows who I am!" Katherine gushed on Snapchat.
We just love the way Katherine totally lost her chill when her idol tweeted about her. It truly proves that she's a genuine girl who isn't afraid to geek out from time to time, just like the rest of us!
