Liam Payne has a lot going on between finishing his debut solo album, daddy duties, making music videos, being a doting boyfriend to Cheryl and finding the time to perform. But, it sounds like he’s going to add something else to his resume. The “Bedroom Floor” singer confirmed that he wants to get into the acting world – just like his pal Harry Styles! Hazza appeared in his first feature film in 2017 called Dunkirk. If you haven’t seen it, he actually played a pretty big role which was completely unexpected. Harry nailed it. While Liam didn’t reveal if he’s got something lined up to fulfill this dream of his, there’s a chance we could see him on the big screen sooner rather than later.
Liam chatted with BANG Showbiz at the launch of the Brit Awards and said, “One of my biggest aims to do is acting. When I watch a film it hits me in a certain way. Maybe Batman or whatever who knows.” However, the acting thing might not be as easy as Payno thinks. No one will ever forget the little bit of acting the One Direction boys did for their “Best Song Ever” music video. Niall Horan, Harry, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik did some pretty awesome American accents. But, Liam kept with his British tone when it came time to bring Leeroy the dance teacher to life.
Just an FYI, Liam, if an acting role calls for a different accent than you’re own, you are going to have to do it. LOL!
Before he leaps in, we hope he talks to Harry about his experience because it wasn’t easy at first. Harry previously said, “My first day was the worst weather we had on the shoot. I thought, ‘What am I doing? I want to be back in the studio’. The long days in the water were definitely the most challenging. It’s where you end up so exhausted that however much you want to do it, you start to get emotional. And being underwater is just on another level, because you obviously can’t breathe.” But, we have faith in him. Liam IS really good at doing impressions, which we can’t take away from him. 2018 might actually be the year he puts that talent really on display and we’re so effing excited for it.
