Since the guys of One Direction each went their separate ways, we’ve been waiting for them all to grace our eardrums with their solo albums. Liam Payne has dropped some bangers on us so far, but we’ve all been wondering when the full-length project would be coming, like we’ve gotten from Harry Styles, Niall Horan, and even Zayn Malik. Well, it turns out Liam’s album isn’t coming anytime soon anymore. But he’s releasing an EP is instead!
Liam took to Twitter to let his fans know that the music he’s created so far just doesn’t really fit his current vibe as his life has gone through some major changes and he’s currently working on even more songs. So while he finishes up a full-length debut, he’s going to drop an EP consisting of four songs coming soon.

And when he says soon, he means it. Next Friday, Aug. 24, First Time will officially arrive.

Liam’s life has certainly been busy lately. While he’s had success with his solo songs like “Strip That Down” and “Get Low,” his personal life has been a whirlwind. His baby boy Bear turned one-year-old in March, but sadly, Liam and his girlfriend Cheryl Cole announced their split in July.
Cheryl and I are sad to announce that we are going our separate ways. It's been a tough decision for us to make. We still have so much love for each other as a family. Bear is our world and we ask that you respect his privacy as we navigate our way through this together.

It seems like he’s already found love again though, as he was spotted packing on all the PDA with model Cairo Dwek, so clearly, Liam has a lot to get some songwriting inspo from. Being a member of one of the most popular band’s in recent music history, becoming a first-time dad, having his heart broken and then finding someone new — it makes sense why he’s currently back in the studio working on some new tunes. And hey, we get four new songs while we wait for the full album, so can’t really complain there. Now it’s time for Louis Tomlinson to give us some music updates…
