Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth became pretty much inseparable in 2017, but the way they are ending the year has our head tilting like a dog who just found his long lost bone stuffed in the couch cushions. Miley and Liam, as far as we can tell, didn't spend Christmas together and we don't even know what's going on anymore. Of course, Liam's family resides mainly in Australia so it's possible that he went down under for the holiday, but like, STILL. For them to separate for the big occasion seems super freaking odd. Especially because they spent Christmas together last year before it was officially official that they had gotten back together after years apart.
So, what gives? First of all, let's go to the basics. Miley and the rest of her family including Tish Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus, Noah Cyrus, Trace Cyrus and Brandi Cyrus all posted photos of the family on Christmas. There were actually photos and videos. They looked like they were having a blast, to be honest. The girls were seen doing a choreographed dance to 'NSYNC's class holiday song, "Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays". Seriously, epic. But, Liam was nowhere to be found. The "Wrecking Ball" singer captioned the video, "The tree ain't the only thang gettin LIT this year. ??? @tishcyrus @brandicyrus @noahcyrus."
There was also a family photo that even included Miley's grandma, but Liam didn't make a cameo. So, let's just say that Liam was the one taking the photo of the family. Okay, fine. But, then why did he or Miley post a picture of just the two of them at some point? Guy, it's literally crazy to think about but in my heart of hearts, I feel like Liam wasn't celebrating with the Cyrus family this year. The only person in the family to post a photo with Liam was Tish, but there's a catch. It was a photo from 2012. NOT. OKAY. TISH. She captioned the photo, "Not much has changed! Haha @liamhemsworth @tracecyrus @mileycyrus #merrychristmas #2012 #family #love."
Seriously, this is so bizarre. Looking at Liam's Instagram, he posted a video of himself wearing a goofy Christmas sweater with a fireplace on the front. As the video zooms out, he says to the fans, "Merry Christmas." But, Miley was nowhere in sight. I don't know why I'm so upset over this, but you'd think that after the year Miam had, they would be posting tons of pics together. So, maybe that's why I'm a bit irritated. I even went so far to creep around on Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa's Instagram accounts to see if Liam could be spotted in the background of their pics. No luck there either.
One thing is for sure, Miley looked super happy with her family. In every photo she's in, she's smiling and looks super festive. So, if they really weren't together, it looks like this was a mutual decision. It's not like Miley was camera shy and didn't want people to know what her Christmas plans were. She really was out in the open, having fun and doing her thing. She captioned her family photo, "Meowy Chrimaahhhhh from my fam to yours! #AllIWantForChristmas is #EveryonetoLOVE and #BeLoved !!!! ???? #Peace."
Miam drama aside, this family really can't get more perfect. But, back to the main reason why this photo turned heads is the fact that Liam wasn't there and he has been in years past. It's also possible that Liam might be on location shooting a movie or working, which would make it difficult to travel back to California for the holiday. Regardless of why Liam wasn't in the photos, we can only hope that Miley and Liam spend New Year's Eve together again. I mean, they better. They better not let shippers ring in 2018 without an epic Miam selfie kiss.
