Pete Davidson has finally broke his silence about his split from Ariana Grande – with humor, of course. The 24-year-old comedian made his first public appearance after the breakup was announced on Saturday at the Judd & Pete For America benefit for Swing Left in West Hollywood, California. While he didn’t name-drop Ari, he did confirm that they’re no longer living together and that he’s had to cover up a few tattoos.

“Well, as you could tell, I don’t want to be here. There’s a lot going on,” he said, “Does anybody have any open rooms? Looking for a roommate?”

You see, Pete had previously opened up about the fact that he moved in with the “Sweetener” singer. He joked that she bought the reported $16 million Manhattan apartment, and he’s in charge of stocking the fridge.

“She’s really sweet. She’s like, ‘This is our house,’ and I’m like, ‘You’re very nice for saying that. Thank you for letting me stay here,'” Pete told GQ. . “She’s like, ‘We’re getting married!’ And I’m like, ‘I know, thank you for letting me stay here.'”

Pete went on to explain that despite what he saw in the media, he didn’t let the haters get to him during his relationship with Ariana.

“So, obviously you know I, we broke up or whatever but when me and her first got engaged we got tattoos,” Pete said at the Judd & Pete For America benefit. “And it was like in a magazine like, ‘Was Pete Davidson stupid?’ And 93% of it said yes. So my boy, he was like, ‘Don’t listen to that s–t man. They’re literally f—ing haters.’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, f–k that. I’m not stupid.’ And the other day we were in my kitchen and he was like, ‘Yo bro. Turns out you were stupid.’”

However, those tattoos he got in honor of his 25-year-old ex are now being covered up.

He added, “I’ve been covering a bunch of tattoos, that’s fun,” he said. “Yeah, I’m afraid to get my mom tattooed on me, that’s how bad it is.”
