Get this: Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, Riley Keough, is in Season 3 of Riverdale – and she got the role after tweeting at the show! It’s true – on March 6, 2018, the actress tweeted, “I just want to be cast in Riverdale.” And now, she is on the show!

Riley plays Laurie Lake, a character from the OG Archie Comics. Her character is described as an “all-American farm girl.” According to Vulture, she takes in Archie and Jughead after they wander onto her property for shelter – and things get dark and dangerous (because obvs, it’s Riverdale).

Leading guy KJ Apa spoke about how pumped he is to welcome new cast members into the squad for the new batch of episodes.

The 21-year-old actor told Seventeen, “It’s been epic! We have such a huge cast. It’s crazy to be constantly seeing these characters that we’re familiar with in the comics. Every day you’re working with these kind of iconic characters and watching them being played in real life is pretty surreal, because I’ve been reading the comics and stuff and it’s hard to even still now [believe] I’m a part of it.”

Riley is no stranger to the entertainment industry! Musicians Lisa Marie Presley and Danny Keough are the 29-year-old star’s parents, and she’s the oldest grandchild of rock and roll legend Elvis Presley and actress Priscilla Presley. Riley started out modeling as a teen, and now she’s starring in one of the hottest television shows of today. Safe to say she’s on the path of becoming a legend herself!

Season 3 of Riverdale premieres on Wednesday, Oct. 10, on The CW.
