The last few months have been full of some very big changes for Selena Gomez, in both her professional and personal life. The “Wolves” songstress went blonde for a few short weeks, reconnected with her ex Justin Bieber and is reportedly going through a bit of a rough patch with her mother Mandy Teefey.

Though through it all, Sel hasn’t forgotten her roots or where she came from. Fans know during the holiday season, she paid her hometown in Texas a visit and even reconnected with some of her friends from back in the day. Though that wasn’t the only trip down memory lane she took. Recently the “Bad Liar” singer shared with fans something very personal about her trips back home — she often will stop by the house where she grew up for a visit.

Sharing a picture of herself in front of her former home on Instagram, she wrote, “The home I grew up in, from birth to 13… (no one was home when I knocked this time lol) I visit this place every chance I get. In many ways it very well could have been better than my life today, but I’m grateful for a voice that can enable change today. Even when I don’t know how to do it well or actually want it. I love you Grand Prairie. Thank you. ❤️.”

From the post alone, fans can tell that at time Sel has a hard time coping with the level of fame she’s achieved, but stopping by her old home helps put everything in perspective. Just another reason for fans to love the singer even more than they do, she’s never afraid to open up about her daily struggles. Though could you imagine opening up your door and finding Selena on the other side, wanting to come inside? That would be totally amazing!
