Shawn Mendes' fans have been anxiously waiting for new songs, despite the fact that you know, he's in the midst of touring and everyone still has his second album Illuminate, which was released in September of 2016, on repeat. But he's currently on a bit of a break from his rigorous tour schedule and it appears he's working on the highly anticipated SM3 album fans are eagerly waiting to hear. The "Mercy" crooner took to Snapchat to share a snippet of a song and naturally the Mendes Army nearly lost in.
In the snippet, you can hear dear Shawn's voice singing the lyrics, "Where were you in the morning baby? You didn't leave your number for me? Left me without a warning baby," over a dreamy piano-heavy track that features a snappy beat. Take a listen, since Shawn went ahead and deleted it on us! (Shoutout to those fans who saved the vid and uploaded it to Twitter for all of us!)

This track might be a preview of the vibe of his next album but according to the man himself, Shawn hasn't gotten around to writing it yet, as he told a fan on Twitter.
Hmm, okay bro. So what is this heavenly tune you casually dropped and then snatched away from us then? Something you're doing just for fun? Or is he simply testing the waters and figuring out exactly how the third album is going to sound? Too many questions out here. But maybe he has had a little bit of heartbreak he desperately seemed to crave in order to get some album inspiration after allβ¦
